Vegas police union: Leadership played a role, enabled Strip false arrests! Grand Jury perjury?

164. November 10, 2024. The Las Vegas Police Protective Association, the union that represents the rank and file of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said that a Convention Center Area Command lieutenant and captain were aware of LVMPD Sgt. Kevin Menon's abuse of power tactics that led to multiple false arrests by a flex squad under Menon's command.

163. October 29, 2024. Update on former Las Vegas Metro Police Vice Sgt. Sean Lucero who retired while on suspension during criminal investigation. Lucero is charged with felony theft and oppression under color of office relating to massage parlor thefts.

161. September 22, 2024. On December 11, 2022, the Doug Poppa Podcast broke the story, 'Exposed: Police Failed to Act as Woman Was Being Murdered', exposing the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) cover-up in the murder of Paula Prado Zuniga. On September 14, 2024, attorneys representing Paula's estate filed a federal lawsuit against the LVMPD.  

FORMER LVMPD FOUNDATION EXEC. DIR. THOMAS KOVACH CHARGED WITH 19 FELONY CHARGES, RELEASED ON SUMMONS

On September 16, 2024, former Executive Director of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation was charged with 19 felony theft charges involving misappropriation of hundreds of thousands of dollars of Foundation funds stemming from the years 2018 through 2022. In lieu of being arrested, Kovach was issued a summons to appear in court, first hearing on October 28, 2024. The LVMPD state the case is still under investigation

159. Sept. 11, 2024. Las Vegas Metro Police Vice Section sergeant retired while under criminal investigation, vice detective suspended. -- Las Vegas Justice Court record indicates that LVMPD Sgt. Kevin Menon charged with another count of oppression under the color of office, total now 10, one with force which is a felony, 9 are gross misdemeanors. -- Capt. Stephen Connell's flexible deployment teams over the years. -- Sergeant allegedly used department gas card while off duty, and more.

After complaints from police officers, a Las Vegas Metro Police Internal Affairs Bureau investigation uncovered a pattern of unlawful detentions/arrests, violating civil rights, perjury by LVMPD Sgt. Kevin Menon. The Doug Poppa Podcast was the first media outlet to break the story on May 27, 2024.
