FRANKIE ZAPPIA, LAST KNOWN PERSON TO SEE VEGAS MURDER VICTIMS ALIVE, ARRESTED IN TN FOR THEFT

**September 6, 2023. Frankie Zappia, a convicted prostitute and stepdaughter of retired Las Vegas Metro Police Officer Daniel 'Dano' Giersdorf was arrested on August 30, 2023, in Chattanooga, TN. and charged with theft of property, a firearm. Zappia was the last known person to see Sydney Land and Nehemiah Kauffman alive on the night of October 25, 2016. On October 27, 2016, Land and Kauffman were both found shot in the head in their Southwest Las Vegas apartment. The murders are unsolved.

Police sources told the 'Doug Poppa Podcast' that former Major League Baseball player Zachary "Zach" Butler Walters was booted out of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Police Academy allegedly for a forged document related to his personal history. Walters had been a police recruit in the current academy class. Talk is the LVMPD wanted this to remain under the public radar. Walters' father is a retired LVMPD police officer. Walters could not be reached for comment.**

Monday July 24, 2023.** According to police sources, last week a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officer fired a live round during a MACTAC training exercise held at the LVMPD Reality-Based Training Center. Sources say the officer thought that his firearm was unloaded when he pulled the trigger. Other officers who were in close proximity fortunately were not hit by the live round. The LVMPD Internal Affairs Bureau (IAB) has an investigation ongoing. -- In an unrelated incident, sources say that on Sunday evening, July 23, a newly promoted lieutenant had an accidental/negligent firing of her service firearm. IAB also conducting investigation into this incident. Updates will follow.

Sunday July 16, 2023. On October 25, 2017, I broke the story that the death of Las Vegas Massacre gunman, Stephen Paddock, would normally be investigated by detectives from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's (LVMPD) Homicide Division. I reported that I was told by a retired police official that the investigation was pulled from homicide detectives and given to the department’s Force Investigation Team, that was commanded at the time by then Captain Kelly McMahill, who was the wife of then Clark County Undersheriff Kevin McMahill. After that story was published, I was contacted by a detective from the LVMPD Internal Affairs Bureau who wanted to know my sources for the story.
